As a Data Scientist, you are an expert in all things data and transform unstructured raw data into valuable and profitable information through analysis and a structured database. Drawing on past experience, you make forecasts, give appropriate recommendations and provide decision-making templates for the future.

Your responsibilities are: 

  • Collaborating with business partners to develop novel ways to meet objectives utilising cutting-edge techniques and tools
  • Effectively communicating the analysis approach as well as how the objectives are achieved
  • Advocating for and educating on the value of data-driven decision-making, focusing on the “how and why” of problem solving
  • Leading analytical approaches and their integration together with data engineers, business leads, analysts and developers
  • Creating repeatable, interpretable, dynamic and scalable models that are seamlessly incorporated into analytic data products
  • Developing functions for finding new ways of combining various internal and external data sources
  • Investigating and developing long-term processes, frameworks, tools, methods and standards
  • Collaborating with and coaching a growing team of experienced data scientists as well as exchanging ideas with external idea generators

Depending on your field of interest, you have the opportunity to get involved in one of the following areas: 

  • Global Data & Analytics
  • SAP SAC/BTP (Development)

Ideally, you match the following profile: 

  • Academic background in data science, computer science, engineering or statistics
  • Proven skills in data science and proficiency with Python or R and in writing complex SQL queries
  • Sound knowledge of machine learning for solving clustering, classification, regression, anomaly detection, simulation and optimisation problems on large data sets
  • Proven proficiency in merging and transforming disparate internal and external data sets to create new functionalities
  • Experience with big data technologies (preferably Azure) and using data visualisation tools
  • Experience supporting the deployment, monitoring, maintenance and improvement of models is desirable
