Welcome and thank you for visiting our www.it-jobs.aldi-sued.de website

The following data protection notice provides you with an initial overview of how your data is processed. Below you will find detailed information sorted by topic.

What data do we collect?

  • In order to properly display our website, we collect access and device-specific data each time our website is accessed.
  • With your consent, we use tracking services and cookies to create user profiles under a pseudonym. These user profiles contain information about a visitor’s behaviour on the website. Apart from this, we only collect data received as a result of the entries you make on our website.

Controller

The Controller pursuant to Art. 4 para. 7 GDPR is

ALDI International Services SE & Co. oHG
ALDI SÜD Group
Mintarder Straße 36–40
45481 Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany

E-mail: it.recruiting(at)aldi-sued.com

The Controller’s Data Protection Officer can be reached by e-mail at: datenschutz(at)aldi-sued.de

Please note that persons other than our Data Protection Officer may also read the contents of any e-mail you send to the above e-mail address. If you would like to exchange confidential information, please initially use this e-mail address to request direct contact with the Data Protection Officer.

Purposes and legal basis

We generally only collect and use the personal data of our users if this is required for providing a functional website and our contents and services as well as for appropriately designing and enhancing our offer. This also constitutes our legitimate interest in data processing.

If we obtain the consent of the data subject, Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR forms the legal basis for the processing of personal data.

Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 German Federal Data Protection Act (Bundesdatenschutzgesetz, BDSG) serves as the legal basis for processing personal data that is required to initiate/fulfil contracts.

Art. 6 para. 1 lit. c) GDPR serves as the legal basis if the processing of personal data is necessary for compliance with a legal obligation to which our company is subject.

Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR serves as the legal basis for processing personal data required to maintain the legitimate interest of our company or of a third party, provided that the interests, fundamental rights and fundamental freedoms of the data subject do not outweigh the legitimate interest.

Insofar as the German Telecommunications Digital Services Data Protection Act (Telekommunikation-Digitale-Dienste-Datenschutz-Gesetz, TDDDG) is applicable, the storage and access to information of the end entity is also based on Section 25 TDDDG.

Recipients – service providers

ALDI International Services SE & Co. oHG is supported by other ALDI SÜD business entities (together: ALDI SÜD) and relies on external service providers to help to create the technical infrastructure, design our websites and perform our services and recruiting activities, for which they may have access to personal data. These service providers are contractually obliged to only process data as instructed by ALDI International Services SE & Co. oHG and to take all measures necessary to ensure an appropriate level of data protection and data security. Data is only processed in countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area in cases where the European Commission has determined that the country in question provides an appropriate level of data protection, or the processor has agreed to standard data protection clauses under which they are obliged to maintain an appropriate level of data protection.

Recipients – other controllers

In individual cases, data is also forwarded to other business entities in the ALDI SÜD Group, in particular ALDI SÜD Dienstleistungs-SE & Co. oHG, ALDI Data & Analytics Services GmbH, ALDI AHEAD GmbH or ALDI Digital Services GmbH, if an enquiry submitted via the contact form can only be answered by this business entity.

Recipients – joint responsibility

Various independent websites are offered under the main domain aldi-sued.de. These include:

Website  Responsible business entity
aldi-sued.de  ALDI SÜD Dienstleistungs-SE & Co. oHG
karriere.aldi-sued.de  ALDI SÜD Dienstleistungs-SE & Co. oHG
it-jobs.aldi-sued.de  ALDI International Services SE & Co. oHG

The respective responsible ALDI business entity is fundamentally responsible for providing the individual website, which is operated independently of the other websites. If you have any questions about one of the websites, it is therefore best to contact the business entity responsible for the specific website.

However, we work closely together with the other ALDI SÜD business entities mentioned to provide the ALDI SÜD websites listed above from a technical perspective and are jointly responsible for the technical provision of individual areas. We explain below which areas are the joint responsibility of the ALDI SÜD Group business entities involved.

If you have any questions or difficulties, please contact the website controller, who is named in the legal notice or as the (main) controller in the privacy policy. In principle, however, you can also contact any of the other business entities involved. Your enquiry will then be forwarded to the responsible ALDI SÜD business entity.

The joint processing of your data is secured by corresponding data protection contracts between the business entities involved.

Data processing in the USA

On our website, we also use some applications from providers located in the USA. Following a ruling from the European Court of Justice dated 16 July 2020 (case C-311/18), the EU-US Privacy Shield was declared invalid on the grounds that the USA does not provide a data protection level comparable to that of the EU. If data is transferred to the USA, the legal situation in the USA entails the risk of the data being recorded and analysed by US authorities, thus preventing the implementation of data subject rights granted under EU law. However, to protect your rights, we have concluded individual contracts with the service providers (by means of standard contractual clauses approved in advance by the EU Commission) that guarantee your rights in the best possible way.

Retention period

Your personal data will be deleted or blocked once the purpose for which it was stored no longer applies and deletion does not conflict with any statutory retention periods. Data will also be blocked or erased once the storage periods defined by the above-mentioned standards expire, unless continued storage of the data is required in order to conclude or fulfil a contract. Please refer to the following sections for information on the retention periods applicable to the individual data collected.

Data subject rights

Provided that the necessary requirements pursuant to Article 15 et seq. GDPR are met, you are entitled to exercise your rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability at any time.

For this purpose, please contact us via e-mail:

datenschutz(at)aldi-sued.de

If you believe that the processing of your personal data violates legal requirements, you have the right to contact a competent supervisory authority.

Consent

You are entitled to revoke your consent to data processing operations with future effect at any time.

Log files

Each time you access or attempt to access our website, at least the following data is gathered and stored in a log file:

  • IP address
  • Name of the retrieved file
  • Date and time of retrieval
  • Transferred data volume
  • Notification as to whether data retrieval was successful
  • Notification as to why the data retrieval failed, if applicable
  • Operating system and browser software installed on your computer
  • Screen resolution
  • Browser language
  • Colour depth
  • Browser plug-ins (JavaScript, Flash Player, Java, Silverlight, Adobe Acrobat Reader, etc.)
  • Website from which you visit our website

The processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR in order to provide our website, guarantee the stability of our systems, ensure data protection and the reliability of our systems, and implement legal provisions. The data will be deleted after seven days.

Contact

There are various ways for you to get in touch with us. These include the contact form and the e-mail addresses provided. In this context, we will only process your data for the purpose of communicating with you. We will only use information provided voluntarily by you for the purposes for which it was provided. The legal basis is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. b) GDPR if the communication relates to initiating or executing a contract. For other enquiries, it is in our mutual interest to answer your enquiries. The legal basis for processing your data in these cases is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. We will ask for your consent in advance to contact you for advertising purposes, which you can revoke at any time. The data we collect through our contact form will be automatically erased once we have fully processed your request, unless we need to store your request to fulfil contractual or legal obligations (see the “Retention period” section).

Please note that the contact form is not intended for submitting job applications. If you wish to submit an application, please use the relevant links in our job advertisements.

Job advertisements

A job application management system is used to ensure straightforward use of the website and its functions (e.g. displaying jobs, creating a candidate profile, completing the online application process). We integrate functions and content that we do not provide ourselves.

SAP SuccessFactors Recruiting technologies (https://www.sap.com/germany/products/recruiting-software.html) are used for this purpose. When you click on a job advertisement displayed on our careers website, you will be redirected to the SAP SuccessFactors job application management system. You can recognise this by the different URL, which either starts with https://jobs.aldi-sued.de/, ea-aldisued.cfapps.eu10.hana.ondemand.com or https://career5.successfactors.eu/

We have concluded data protection contracts with the service provider that guarantee secure processing of your data exclusively in our name and for our purposes.

Watch list

If you’re interested in several positions, you can save them to a watch list. This information is stored on your device (in “local storage”), so we do not need to collect any personal data for this purpose.

This list is saved until you delete it. You can also delete individual jobs from your watch list at any time. To delete the watch list completely, you can also clear your browser’s cache. Your browser’s help function will explain how to do this.

Applications

You can apply for advertised positions via our careers website. For this purpose, you provide us with personal data that we process exclusively for the job application process. To ensure that your application is processed thoroughly, your documents will be automatically forwarded to the relevant department within the Group.

You can submit your application either by registering and opening a profile or by using an application, which is a quick and simple process that does not require a profile.

Recruitment agencies and our processors support us in the job application process.

If recruitment agencies are involved in the job application process, we will forward your contact and applicant details to them.

If you apply for more than one position within different business entities of the ALDI SÜD Group, the persons involved will always be able to see the following information from your applications:

  • Position
  • Application status
  • Responsible recruiter

This applies regardless of the channel through which your application is received and the option you have selected with regard to making your data visible to other regional business entities.

We will process the entered data based on Section 26 para. 1 German Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG) if the data is required to establish an employment relationship. If the data is used to suggest job positions to you, we process your data based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can find more information in the respective declaration of consent. You are entitled to revoke your consent with future effect at any time.

On the basis of Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR, we evaluate which channel (e.g. which job portal) applicants used to access our careers website in order to improve our recruiting efforts. If you have given your consent to marketing, personalisation and performance cookies, we record which of our job advertisements ultimately led to a position being filled in the long term. This processing is based on your consent according to Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR and Section 88 GDPR in conjunction with Section 26 para. 2 BDSG. You are entitled to revoke your consent with future effect at any time.

Deletion periods

You can delete your profile and uploaded files at any time under “Options/Settings”. You can also request that we delete your data on your behalf. To do this, please contact us at: datenschutz(at)aldi-sued.de

If your application is rejected, the data processed as part of the application process will be deleted six months after the end of this process.

If you are hired, the application documents will become part of your personnel file. After six months of inactivity following your last login, your account will be deleted. If you have chosen to be included in our talent network, you will receive reminder e-mails on the current status of your profile.

Active sourcing via business networks

When approaching potential candidates directly on business platforms provided for this purpose (e.g. XING or LinkedIn), it is necessary to process their personal data. Only publicly accessible profile data (in particular, first name and last name) is processed. The primary purpose of processing personal data is to identify and contact suitable candidates. Data processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. f) GDPR. The data collected remains exclusively within the ALDI SÜD Group and may be shared with the relevant ALDI SÜD business entity as required.

Talent network

Following your visit to a careers trade fair, your internship, or student work placement, you can join our talent network without applying for a specific position. You can also register with our talent network by selecting the “Make your own profile visible to ALDI SÜD recruiters and managerial employees so that other relevant/equal positions can be suggested” option as part of your application.

If a suitable position is identified, we will contact you via e-mail and invite you to apply for the suggested position. You can then decide whether you want to apply.

If you select the “Make your own profile visible to ALDI SÜD recruiters and managerial employees so that other relevant/equal positions can be suggested” option, your profile will be visible to all recruiters and managerial employees within the ALDI SÜD Group. This means that designated employees will have access to your application or profile and may then suggest other open positions for you. If you have selected this option, your data will be automatically added to our talent network so that you can be considered for other positions after the end of the application process.

You can revoke this option in your profile with future effect at any time. This will then apply to all completed and active applications. As a result, your application/profile will no longer be considered for other positions.

Only the data stored in your profile is processed, including the information from the uploaded data. We process your personal data in order to contact you about suitable positions and, with your consent, to transfer you to a further application process. Data processing is based on your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. The data you provide will remain exclusively within the ALDI SÜD Group and can be viewed by recruiters and, if applicable, managerial employees of all business entities. After six months of inactivity following your last login, your account will be deleted. If you have chosen to be included in our talent network, you will receive reminder e-mails on the current status of your profile. You can delete your profile and uploaded files at any time under “Options/Settings”. In addition, you can request that we delete your data by sending an e-mail to: datenschutz(at)aldi-sued.de

TalentConnect

In addition to the talent network, we can also create a candidate profile for you in our TalentConnect system. All recruiters at the German ALDI SÜD business entities can access your application details in TalentConnect and contact you if we have any suitable open positions. We will ask for your consent separately and contact you by e-mail to add you to TalentConnect. This consent constitutes the legal basis for the processing of data in TalentConnect in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. We consider this consent to be valid for 18 months and will ask you to renew your consent before it expires. If you do not renew your consent, your data will be deleted from TalentConnect. You can withdraw your consent at any time. If you withdraw your consent, your data will be deleted from TalentConnect unless statutory retention obligations or our own legitimate interests prevent this. In TalentConnect, we process information about you that you yourself have provided in current or past applications. If you have been contacted by our recruiters via professional networks such as LinkedIn, we will process data about you that you have published there. We use service providers for TalentConnect who we have contractually obliged to comply with data protection in accordance with Art. 28 para. 3 GDPR.

The TalentConnect system is jointly operated by ALDI SÜD Dienstleistungs-SE & Co. oHG and ALDI International Services SE & Co. oHG. You may exercise your rights as a data subject pursuant to Art. 15 et seq. GDPR with both business entities. In order for us to respond to your enquiry as quickly as possible, we recommend that you contact the business entity whose recruiter you have been in contact with regarding your application or with whom you have applied for an open position. Further information from ALDI SÜD Dienstleistungs-SE & Co. oHG can be found here

Event registration

You can register for various events organised and hosted by ALDI SÜD on our careers website. In order to process your registration, we collect and process the following data on the basis of your declaration of consent given at the time of registration: Form of address, first name, surname, e-mail address, field of training/study, current professional activity, selection of your interests, optional: link to LinkedIn profile. After registration, we collect and store the data in the Typo3 content management system (CMS) of our career websites and, subject to the deletion periods (see “Retention period” section), also locally. By granting your consent, you allow our event organisers to contact you by e-mail for the purpose of further planning.

Your personal data will not be passed on to third parties.

Furthermore, this registration explicitly applies only to events organised by ALDI SÜD itself (in-house recruiting events). Events organised by third parties (e.g. career fairs) are presented on our career websites but no registration or exchange of personal data takes place there. The respective organiser is responsible for this.

External links

In order to offer you a comprehensive service, our websites also refer you to other websites or their offers. We would like to emphasise that neither our employees nor other parties involved with this website have any influence on the design or content of the linked pages.

We do not accept responsibility for any external content that is provided via links and do not adopt the content of such websites. The provider of the website that is referred to is solely liable for any illegal, incorrect or incomplete content, as well as for any damage resulting from using or not using the information.

Our data protection notice only applies to this website. Please note the data protection provisions specified on the individual linked websites.

Social media plug-ins (social wall tiles and sharing function)

On our website, we use so-called social media plug-ins. Plug-ins are program extensions which are integrated into our website and serve as interfaces to third-party service providers. This gives you the option of sharing the jobs displayed via a “Share” button on one of your social media profiles.

The social wall initially only displays images, texts and links of the social media posts from ALDI SÜD. A “Share” button will redirect you to the relevant social media page where you will be asked to explicitly confirm that you wish to share the relevant content.

By activating the plug-ins, you provide the operators of the online platform (third-party service providers) with at least the following information:

  • The IP address of your end device
  • Information concerning your visit to our website

If you activate the plug-in while logged in with your user account to the third-party service provider’s service, the third-party service provider will be able to assign your visit to our website to your user account.

The legal basis for transferring your data to the social media providers in this context is your consent in accordance with Article 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR. You can change your decision at any time in the cookie settings. Data will be transferred exclusively between your end device and the systems of the third-party service provider. ALDI SÜD has no way of influencing or knowing the contents of the data transferred between your end device and the online platform operators (third-party service providers) or the manner in which your data is processed by such third-party service providers. For detailed information concerning the purpose and scope of further data processing by the respective platform operator and your related rights and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to the data protection notices of the respective third-party service providers, which can be accessed via the links to the respective privacy policies provided by the third-party service providers.

On our website, we use so-called sharing buttons (social plug-ins) offered by the following social media platforms:

  • Meta (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited, Merrion Road, Dublin 4, D04 X2K5, Irland)
  • Xing (XING AG, Dammtorstraße 30, 20354 Hamburg, Germany)
  • LinkedIn (LinkedIn Corporation, 1000 West Maude Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94085, USA)
  • E-mail

Links to social media platforms are partly indicated by symbols such as

  • Facebook (bright lowercase letter “f”)
  • Xing (bright capital letter “X”)
  • Kununu (bright lowercase letter “k”)
  • Glassdoor (two bright brackets)
  • LinkedIn (bright “in”)
  • Instagram (rounded bright square with circle and dot inside)
  • YouTube (rounded bright rectangle with triangle inside)

For detailed information concerning the purpose and scope of further data processing by the respective platform operator and your related rights and setting options for protecting your privacy, please refer to the data protection notices of the respective third-party service providers.

Technologies

Based on Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a), b) and f) GDPR and Sections 25 TDDDG, we use self-developed and third-party technologies in order to help us improve our offer and conduct website analysis and optimisation measures, among other things by creating and assessing pseudonymised user profiles.

Insofar as your consent is required for the use of the technologies (Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR), we ask you to decide whether you agree to their use when you first access the page or in the area containing the respective content. You can revoke your consent at any time with effect for the future by deleting the cookies set, using the opt-out link or deactivating the function within the respective content. For further information on the technologies used and your possibilities to subsequently disable tracking, please refer to the following sections.

Cookies

We use (third-party) cookies on our website to provide you with the maximum possible level of convenience and to make our online presence as attractive as possible for you.

Cookies are text files that the browser saves to your computer. They contain information on how you use our website and can recognise users that go back to the website in the future. You can use your browser’s settings to either disable all cookies or delete the existing cookies that have already been placed on your device. For more information on how to do this, please consult your browser’s help function.

Required processing:

Some of these cookies (or comparable technologies) are absolutely necessary to provide the website, for example to provide login data across the entire website.

Third-party providers:

Some of the technologies offer additional functions that are offered by other service providers to make your visit to our websites even more agreeable.

These functions transmit information about you to other data controllers. In principle, you can also use our websites without these functions. However, we need your consent if you wish to use the functions, otherwise we cannot transmit your data to the provider of the functions.

Marketing and personalisation:

Some of the technologies are used to optimise our website through analyses or to display content tailored to you. You can use our websites even if these functions are not activated. If you grant your consent, we will analyse and use the information about your behaviour on our websites as described in detail below.

Performance:

By agreeing to performance cookies, you enable us to measure the performance of our content and improve it using aggregated data.

Consent management:

To enable you and us to easily manage your decisions about consent to website processing, we have integrated a consent management tool. This consent management tool for services that require consent is administered across websites of several ALDI SÜD Group business entities (as described in more detail above in the “Recipients – joint responsibility” section). This means that if you grant your consent for tracking services on the website, this consent applies to all the websites involved. You can revoke your consent at any time by accessing the cookie settings, which are linked in the footer on each of the pages.

Your website usage is analysed jointly for the pages karriere.aldi-sued.de and it-jobs.aldi-sued.de. This means that user behaviour is recorded and analysed comprehensively on both pages.

Use of YouTube videos

We have integrated videos into our website which are stored on YouTube and can be played directly on our websites. YouTube is a multimedia service offered by YouTube LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA (“YouTube”), a group company of Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA (“Google”). We will ask for your consent to the videos being displayed; the legal basis for this is Art. 6 para. 1 lit. a) GDPR.

In order to use the videos, you need to provide your consent through a two-click solution (slide control) within the relevant content. Your data will not be sent to YouTube and Google until you have provided your consent. When you visit our website, information that you have accessed the corresponding subpage of our website will be forwarded to YouTube and Google. This happens irrespective of whether you are logged in to YouTube or Google. You can revoke your consent at any time by using the slide control below the respective content again.
