During our transformation to a product-oriented organisation, as a Software Architect you will be responsible for the technical implementation of the product and the subsequent items in the product backlog in accordance with business requirements and architecture standards.

You will promote the use of state-of-the-art technology and design practices, taking into account market standards, sustainability and compatibility with other products.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Defining and integrating specific solutions for items in upcoming product backlogs in close coordination with the product team (incl. design, implementation, testing and operation)
  • Informing the product team on relevant architectural aspects and contributing to estimations, e.g. story points or effort
  • Working closely with architects across the entire product line, prioritising and setting up product roadmaps in coordination with the Solution Architect and the Software Architects of related products
  • Acting as an architecture SPOC for other team members and teams
  • Guiding and supervising developers and engineers on the appropriate implementation of the detailed architecture
  • Conducting code reviews
  • Supporting the preparation and execution of product testing
  • Contributing to the improvement of architecture guardrails
  • Creating transparent architecture documentation
  • Participating in and contributing to the architecture community

Depending on your strengths and interests, you can contribute in the following areas, among others:

  • Both agile and classic project teams

Ideally, you have the following:

  • Relevant professional experience in the field of software architecture as well as in the development and supervision of bundled/integrated business applications
  • Extensive knowledge of standard development and DevOps methods, common programming languages, technologies and infrastructure, among others
  • Ability to work in agile team configurations that require continuous, close collaboration with users and team members
  • Proactive and independent way of working
  • Strong communication and facilitation skills, as well as the ability to analyse and think in abstract terms
  • Expertise in architecture documentation tools and methods (e.g. Signavio, LeanIX) and architecture modelling
  • Certified expertise in architecture frameworks (e.g. TOGAF) is preferred
  • Desire and willingness for professional development in the area of solution architecture management
