Within Change Management the pictures learn to walk
ALDI SOUTH is subject to a process of constant innovation. The Change Management team uses videos, among other things, to ensure that employees are always up to date.
“If you always do what you’ve always done, you’ll always get what you’ve always got.” This is a quote by Henry Ford, who revolutionised automobile production by introducing the assembly line. The employees of ALDI SOUTH, one of the largest retailers in the world, not only do what they are already good at – they also strive to get better every day, which means constant change.
Change Management at ALDI SOUTH ensures that employees are always up to date. “Our task is to develop change measures in cooperation with and on behalf of the ALDI SOUTH countries. We also support the sharing of best practices and lessons learned between the individual countries,” says Christin, who has been a member of the team since August 2019.
From project to business language
Most recently, she worked on a project that uses an internal video series on new business processes to demonstrate how work processes change in individual departments. “Using the videos, we break down complex topics to a simple level in order to improve understanding, but also the willingness to adopt new ways of working,” explains Christin.
On the one hand, the challenge is to translate complex IT project language into business language suitable for everyday use. On the other hand, it must also meet the requirements of the IT experts and not distort the content.
For ALDI SOUTH, the videos are therefore of major importance. “Especially for the business group as a whole, the content conveyed in the videos is very important for ensuring that the colleagues in the individual business units and teams know what their work will look like in the future,” adds Christin.
